Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Your 3-day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Encounter begins with your arrival at Kigali International Airport. Upon landing, you will be warmly greeted by our safari guide, who will brief you on the upcoming adventure. Embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in the northern part of Rwanda. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful Rwandan countryside, characterized by rolling hills and lush landscapes.

Arrive at your lodge near the park in the afternoon and check in. After settling in, take some time to relax and acclimate to the surroundings. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Rise early and prepare for an unforgettable day of gorilla trekking. After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a detailed orientation and assignment to a gorilla trekking group. Accompanied by experienced trackers and guides, venture into the dense forests of Volcanoes National Park to find a family of mountain gorillas.

After the trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you have the option to visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village (Gorilla Guardians Village). Here, you can engage with the local community, learn about traditional Rwandan culture, and participate in activities such as traditional dance performances, craft making, and storytelling.

Day 3: Cultural Tour and Departure

On the final day of your adventure, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge before embarking on a cultural tour. Visit the Musanze Caves, a historic site with intriguing geological formations and a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Explore the caves and learn about their significance from a knowledgeable guide.

Next, head to the vibrant local markets in Musanze town, where you can browse and purchase handmade crafts, fresh produce, and souvenirs. Interact with local vendors and gain insights into everyday life in Rwanda.

After the market visit, enjoy a scenic drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a poignant and important site that commemorates the victims of the 1994 genocide.
